Measure Your Kitchen Step by Step
Step 1 — Sketch Your Kitchen

Draw the basic shape of your kitchen. Straight lines are fine. Label each wall so your measurements are easy to follow.

Step 2 — Mark Windows, Doors & Openings

Add windows, doors, walkways, and pass-throughs to your sketch. Mark where each opening starts and ends.

Note: Measure openings from the outside edge of the trim.

Step 3 — Measure Each Wall

Measure the full length of each wall from corner to corner. Write the measurement directly on your sketch.

Note: Start in one corner and work around the room.

Step 4 — Add Sink & Appliances

Mark the location of your sink, range, refrigerator, dishwasher, microwave, or hood. If you know the appliance size, write it down.

Step 5 — Mark Obstacles

Note anything that may affect cabinet placement, such as vents, outlets, switches, pipes, soffits, radiators, or access panels.

Step 6 — Take a Few Photos

Draw the basic shape of your kitchen. Straight lines are fine. Label each wall so your measurements are easy to follow.
